<p>A ghat in the religious city of Varanasi, <strong>Dashashwamedh Ghat</strong> is located on the northern banks of the Ganges in Uttar Pradesh. This ghat is close to the <strong>Vishwanath Temple</strong>. According to myths and legends, Brahma is said to have performed Ashwamedh sacrifices at this spot 10 times. Another myth states that Lord Shiva performed these sacrifices here.In <strong>1735</strong>, <strong>Peshwa Balaji Baji Rao</strong> constructed the current Ghat. How to Reach Dashashwamedh Ghat

You can reach Dashashwamedh Ghat from the Godowlia market area. No motorized transport is allowed to the bank of river Ganges. The nearest airport is the Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport (25 km away). Taxi stands are available outside the airport; prepaid taxis or taxis hailed via app should get you to Godowlia in about 45-50 minutes. The railway connectivity is available to both Varanasi Junction (Cantt) and the Banaras Railway Stations. From either of these stations, autos, e-rickshaws, and taxis are available to Godowlia. Local transportation is available from the station to Godowlia. If you take road/bus transport, you can take local auto-rickshaws and e-rickshaws from the Varanasi Bus Stand to Godowlia. From Godowlia, it is about a 5 minute walk to Dashashwamedh Ghat. Enjoy the market and the Ganges river on your walk there.
