Hawa Mahal

📍 Jaipur , Rajasthan , India

The poet monarch Sawai Pratap Singh constructed Hawa Mahal, also known as the Palace of Winds, in 1799 as a summer resort for himself and his family. Additionally, it provided a space for the women of the royal household to watch daily life without being noticed. The outside of this unusual five-story building, which combines Islamic and Hindu architectural styles, is reminiscent of Lord Krishna’s crown thanks to its tiny latticed windows, or jharokhas. The palace is the ideal getaway in the summer because the windows act as a kind of air conditioner, blowing cool air throughout.
