<p>Rumi Darwaza is a gateway in the city of Lucknow in the state of Uttar Pradesh in India. This Awadhi structure was built by the lieutenant of Awadh, Nawab Asaf-Ud-Daula in the year 1784. Designed under the supervision of troubled Nawab, this 60 feet high gateway was inspired by the famous Sublime Porte in Istanbul.This monument was created with great empathy towards the people suffering during the famine. It was a project created to enable people to earn their livelihood with dignity. </p>
